COAST ARTS 2016 Expressions of Interest

Introduction

From a successful 6 year gestation as the Cromer and Sheringham Art and Literary Festival comes COAST ARTS. Now more than just a festival, COAST ARTS 2016 will be running events throughout the year with its strategic partners culminating in the traditional art week across October half term (this year that’s 22-30 October).

Whilst the structure may be different, the aim is the same: to promote and provide access to the arts in North Norfolk, celebrating the variety and quality of work produced locally, and giving local communities and visitors the opportunity to experience local, regional and national creativity.
COAST Arts is committed to supporting a wide range of art forms and events.

Revolution

The theme for COAST 2016 is Revolution, reflecting the subject of the North Walsham Festival 2016 (the Peasants Revolt of 1381) and School’s Les Mis to be performed in the famous Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre in October.

Join the Revolution

We are inviting individual artists (amateur and professional), collectives, promoters, voluntary groups, entrepreneurs and businesses to submit an Expression of Interest to become part of the 2016 COAST ARTS family of events, either as part of the traditional festival week, or alongside other parts of the COAST ARTS 2016 calendar.
COAST Arts (through its Programming Group) will assess submissions against its objectives. If your proposal is accepted, we will work with you to help bring your ideas to fruition. A small payment will be expected for inclusion in all appropriate COAST Arts marketing (including website, social media, e-newsletters, printed programmes, etc). Other expectations will be formalised in a mutually negotiated letter of agreement).

Please be aware that COAST Arts is a volunteer-run, registered charity with very limited funds. Except in extraordinary circumstances, it cannot contribute to fees or other costs but can arrange a mutually agreeable box office split where appropriate. You are therefore required to take FULL responsibility for all aspects of their event – booking venues, insurance, security & stewarding, health & safety/risk assessments, delivery & installation, provision of materials, publicity and promotion, and signage.

We do hope you will join us at COAST ARTS; if you need advice about timing, dates, venues and partnership events with other organisations, just get in touch and we will do our best to point you in the right direction! The COAST ARTS team will endeavour to make sure that we have a couple of representatives at any agreed/accepted event.
